Jamestown CSi – Jamestown Police have released this a statement on the fire.

On September 12, 2024, at approximately 0136 hrs., Stutsman County Communications received multiple calls of the sounds of a possible house explosion at 545 1 St W. Jamestown Fire Department, Jamestown Police Department, and Jamestown Area Ambulance responded to the house fire.

Upon arrival, officers found the garage was fully engulfed and the fire spread very quickly to the home. First responders located a 55-year-old resident who had severe burns but was outside the home and coherent. The resident was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center and was later life-flighted for life-threatening injuries to a Minneapolis Hospital.

First arriving officers attempted to rescue the resident’s animal but were unsuccessful. The animal was later found deceased.

The on-going investigation to determine the cause and origin of the fire is still underway. Other responding investigative agencies include the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the North Dakota Fire Marshal office. Streets in the area have been closed off and we request individuals stay away from the area, to allow investigators room to work and avoid congestion. The incident remains under investigation.

Explosions were reported at 1:35am in Southwest Jamestown, when a garage ignited and spread to the house at 545 1st street SW.  The owner was taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

The Jamestown Fire Department arrived on the scene minutes later with up to 7 units on scene. Twenty one Fire Fighters worked the fire using water and foam to knock the fire down. JFD was on the scene till 4:14am when they cleared the scene.

The residence next door did lose their garage to the flames. The house was spared due to water being sprayed on it. The fire is under investigation.

(Valley News Live) – Fire crews are still on scene after a house explosion early Thursday morning in Jamestown, ND.

The call came in just at 1:35 a.m. on September 12, to 545 1st St. W.

According to Jamestown fire officials on scene the cause of the explosion is unknown at this time and they don’t know if it came from inside or outside the home. Officials say one person was taken to the hospital but their condition is unknown at this time.
