Norman “Bubber” Eugene Leigh, 75, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, at his home

in Edgeley. Norman Eugene Leigh was born May 27, 1949, at Jamestown Hospital to Marvin and Ruby

(Ernst) Leigh. He attended Fullerton school, graduating in 1969.

After graduation, he moved to Detroit Lakes, MN where he worked at a service station, briefly to Glenwood, MN before settling in Edgeley, ND. In Edgeley, he worked with his uncle, Willie Ernst

at Ernst Service and Repair.

On June 6, 1975, Bubber was united in marriage to Judith Rey at First Presbyterian Church in Edgeley. In 1979, he began farming near Edgeley, where he farmed for the next 23 years. From 2002 on, he worked in construction and agriculture fields before retiring from Kiecker Farms due

to health reasons.

Bubber loved fishing, hunting, and cars. One might say classic cars were his passion. He enjoyed fixing engines and was always on the lookout for his next project. His favorite car was his 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible.

He enjoyed family camping/fishing/hunting trips. Summers were spent on fishing trips to various lakes and dams in the surrounding area. He never missed a season opener. Hunting deer was

his favorite, but also hunted antelope, sand hill crane, dove, partridge, grouse, pheasant, duck, and goose. He liked to take weekend drives to new places and would strike up a conversation with anyone He met.

He is survived by his wife Judy, son Jesse (Simone) of Cleveland, ND, daughter Shelley (Ryan) Oster of West Fargo, ND, and son Eric of Edgeley, ND, grandchildren Norah, Ruby, Lucy, and Samuel Leigh, and Piper Oster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Shirley, brother-in-law, Marvin Robb, and his in-laws, Clarence and Mabel Rey.
