JAMESTOWN – Persistent congestion, headaches or facial pain? These symptoms may be more than just a seasonal nuisance, Jamestown Regional Medical Center invites the community to its latest JRMC U event, “Do I Have a Sinus Infection?”, an engaging and educational session aimed at shedding light on sinus health and how to address common issues like rhinitis and sinusitis. The event will take place at the Two Rivers Activity Center, on Dec. 11 at 11 a.m.
Sinus infections, also known as sinusitis, affect more than 31 million Americans annually, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Often mistaken for a common cold or allergies, untreated sinus infections can lead to prolonged discomfort and even serious complications. At this event, attendees will learn how to distinguish among rhinitis, sinusitis and other similar conditions while gaining valuable insights into treatment options and preventative care.
This free community event will be led by JRMC Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist Dr. Chet Barton. As the only ENT practicing in Jamestown, Dr. Barton’s presence ensures that expert guidance and treatment— including surgical care —are more accessible to the region.
“My goal is to equip you with the tools and knowledge to manage your health effectively,” said Dr. Barton. “This event will offer practical advice and highlight the resources available at JRMC to help individuals feel their best.”
The presentation will also highlight advances in minimally invasive treatments for managing sinus health. Following the session, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with JRMC’s ENT.
