Leona Weisser, 97, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Friday morning, January 10, 2025 at St. Gabriel’s Community, Bismarck, ND.

Leona was born June 23, 1927, in Medina, ND, the daughter of Jacob and Marie (Mayer) Moos.  She attended country schools in the area and helped on the family farm south of Medina.  Leona was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Weisser on October 30, 1953.  They made their home in Jamestown where Leona worked at Lil’s Restaurant and the North Dakota State Hospital.  She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casinos.  Leona would can vegetables and Ted would tend to the garden each year.  He passed away on September 21, 2020.

Leona is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Weisser; grandchildren, Robert Olson, Sarah (Matt) Kurle, and Heather Hagel; and great grandchildren, Hunter and Shelby; and great-great grandchild, Huntley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted; daughter, Marlene; granddaughter, Becca Jo; and siblings, Leon, Albert, Arthur, Pauline, Reuben, Leonard, Irene, Robert, and Clarence.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
