University of Jamestown head football coach Brian Mistro has announced the hiring of Shane Kelly as the Jimmies’ offensive coordinator.
“We are very excited to welcome Coach Kelly to the Jimmie family,” said Mistro. “His passion for the game and people is what struck me as a perfect fit for our staff. His knowledge and football acumen is second to none, and he recruits with a fire and passion that we want in our program.”
Kelly comes to Jamestown after spending the past four seasons at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he served as co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. At Coe, Kelly helped coach five all-conference offensive lineman.
“I am excited to be a part of the University of Jamestown and the Jimmie football team,” Kelly said. “I am very thankful for my time at Coe College, where I have been fortunate to work alongside some wonderful coaches and having the opportunity to coach some great players. My wife and I are very excited to start this next chapter of our lives.”
Before Coe, Kelly was the offensive quality control/assistant offensive line coach at Eastern Illinois for one season. He began coaching at the high school level in 2015 before joining the staff at Eastern Illinois.
Kelly played at Eastern Illinois from 2008-2012, beginning as a defensive end for his first two seasons before moving to offensive line.
