FARGO – North Dakota opened 2025 at the Bison Team Cup on Saturday and finished the meet with seven individual titles, a pair of school records and one meet record. The Fighting Hawks also recorded eight improvements on the UND top-10 lists.

Kenna Curry shattered her own school record and won the shot put title with a toss of 51-8 1/4 (15.75m). Prior to Saturday’s meet, Curry held the record with a mark of 50-6 (15.39m), which she set at the UND Open last season. Curry’s shot put throw currently ranks No. 39 in the NCAA this season.

Curry also captured the weight throw crown with a toss of 69-8 (21.23m) towards the beginning of the meet.

Jerzie Finstad also broke a school record and was victorious in the 600 meters, running a time of 1:32.81. She broke the record of Heather Harrower, who set it at 1:32.99 at the 2017 Bison Open.

Earlier in the meet, Finstad also tied the No. 3 time in school history in the 60 meters during prelims with a PR of 7.71.

Nadia Evans won the 200 meters in a time of 24.57, which moved her up to No. 3 in school history. She broke the Bison Team Cup meet record with her time. The previous record was 24.62 and was set by Jerayah Davis of Wyoming at the 2019 Bison Team Cup.

Ethan Thomas, the Summit League Men’s Field Peak Newcomer of the Month in December, claimed a pair of titles in the throwing events. He won the crown in the weight throw and posted the No. 5 mark on the UND top-10 list with a toss of 58-8 3/4 (17.90m). Later in the meet, he won the shot put with a throw of 56-6 3/4 (17.24m).

Kimberly Hitchen claimed the crown in the 400 meters with a time of 58.11.

Emily AshEve Goldstein and Marta Marksa also posted upgrades on the UND top-10 lists at the meet in their respective events.

Ash tied the No. 4 height in program history in the pole vault with a clearance of 12-5 1/2 (3.80m).

Goldstein improved her No. 4 mark on the UND top-10 list in the shot put with a throw of 48-0 (14.63m).

Marksa moved up to No. 9 in UND history in the long jump with a leap of 18-5 (5.61m).

North Dakota will visit Brookings on Saturday for the Jim Emmerich Invitational.

* In total, the Fighting Hawks had individuals place in the top-three 16 times on Saturday.
