JCF – The Jamestown Community Foundation recently awarded a $5,750 grant for purchase of customized recycling bins, to a partnership of local non-profits led by the Anne Carlsen Center.  This group is implementing a new recycling project for the Jamestown local parks this summer, and the grant will purchase recycling bins for 6  parks.  Cooperating in the recycling project are the Anne Carlsen Center, Alpha Opportunities, Bridgewell, Community Action, Easter Seals/Goodwill, Triumph, Inc., Jamestown Parks and Recreation, and the Jamestown Recycling Center.

Each of the non-profits will be involved in the maintaining, collecting and sorting of the contents of the recycling bins and preparing the items to be taken to the Jamestown Recycling Center.  The partnership will work out a program where each organization will be responsible for a particular park.  The public is asked to be respectful about items placed in the bins, keeping in mind that the volunteers will include some individuals with developmental disabilities. There are opportunities for other non-profit organizations to get involved as well.  For additional information on the project, please contact Amanda Schuldheisz at amanda.naasz12@gmail.com.  This project will be a great opportunity for community involvement in fostering inclusivity and pride for our beautiful city parks.
