JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Jimmie softball team used a four-hit shutout from Hope Ransome to defeat Bellevue (Neb.) University 3-0 in the first game of Saturday afternoon’s doubleheader at Trapper Lawrence Field, but the Bruins came back with a 5-0 shutout of their own in game two.

GAME ONE
- Maddie Spaeth’s first-inning single scored Trinity Gregg with the game’s first run, which would be the only run the Jimmies would need in the opener.
- After giving up a one-out single in the third, Ransome (9-6) retired nine Bruins in a row, and 11 of the final 12 in recording her third shutout of the season.
- Lauren Weigel and Kayla Quintanilla added to UJ’s lead with RBI doubles in the bottom of the fifth.
- Jamestown finished with five hits in the game, including a double by Gregg and a single by Sidnie Aasen.
GAME TWO
- The Jimmies were 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left nine runners on base in getting shut out for only the third time this season.
- Bellevue had a two-run home run in the first and seventh innings and scored another run in the fifth on a double.
- Kate Geiszler and Sidnie Aasen each doubled for Jamestown’s extra base hits, while Trinity Gregg, Sonya Rodgers, Maddie Spaeth, Kayla Quintanilla, and Sydney Grendler all singled.

- The Jimmies host Dickinson State (N.D.) University at Trapper Lawrence Field in the final home doubleheader of the season on Friday, April 25, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
