MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – It was a tough afternoon for ND from Jane Sage Cowles Stadium as Minnesota no hit the Fighting Hawks in an 8 to 0 win in five innings. The loss wraps up UND’s non-conference slate and moves NoDak’s overall record to 25-25.

Katelyn Neumayer was the lone base runner for the Hawks in the contest as she drew a walk to lead off the second inning. UM’s Sydney Schwartz struck out just four as she relied on her defense to dispatch the Hawks offensively.

Jackie Albrecht started for UND and pitched a single frame as the Golden Gophers managed to strike early with five runs on three hits and three walks in the bottom of the first. Makaela Carr pitched the final 3.0 innings in relief, scattering three hits and a walk, while striking out four. Defensively, the Hawks turned a double play, a line drive 6-3 handled by Katie Joten, for the third straight game and finished the weekend with five.

The Hawks prepare for their final action of the regular season with a three-game Summit League series against South Dakota State from Albrecht Field on May 2 and 3. It is senior weekend for the Fighting Hawks as eight players will be honored. Live coverage links for the series are available at www.FightingHawks.com.
