Susan was an avid reader and belonged to a book club for 28 years.  She enjoyed needlework and quilting projects, creating over 200 quilt tops, during the long winter months.  Yard work, gardening, and her lifelong passion for birding kept her busy in the summer.  She could often be seen walking and rarely driving around Bottineau, regardless of the weather.  In retirement she became a worldwide traveler, visiting India, Jordan, Isarael, Egypt, El Salvador, and Europe, including Vatican City.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Agnes, and her husband Gordon.  She is survived by her sons Mark (Amie) of Geneva, IL, Ben (Shannon) of Portland, OR, four grandchildren Isaiah, David, Jacob and Jaden, sister Barb (Brian) Trauman of Fargo, ND, brother-in-law Steve (Phoebe) Roeder of Indianapolis, IN, and many extended family members.
