Jamestown (Tourism) – Jamestown Frontier Attractions has been awarded $212,500 through the North Dakota Department of Commerce’s Destination Development Grant Program to build a new miniature golf course at Frontier Village. The project is part of a broader effort to enhance visitor experiences and strengthen Jamestown’s position as a leading tourism destination in North Dakota.

The new mini golf course will bring an exciting, family-friendly activity to Frontier Village while complementing nearby attractions such as the World’s Largest Buffalo and the North American Bison Discovery Center. Each hole will feature interpretive themes inspired by Jamestown’s frontier heritage, local history, and iconic landmarks, offering visitors both entertainment and education.

“This grant allows us to bring a fun, interactive attraction to Frontier Village that fits perfectly with the site’s mission of connecting people to Jamestown’s history and community spirit,” said Allison Limke, Visitor Experience Manager with Jamestown Tourism and board member of Jamestown Frontier Attractions. “It’s something families, locals, and travelers of all ages will enjoy, and it gives them one more reason to stay a little longer and explore all Jamestown has to offer.”

The miniature golf course will be located within Frontier Village and designed to encourage longer visitor stays, increase tourism revenue, and support local businesses. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with additional sponsorship opportunities available for local donors, including naming rights for individual holes, course amenities, and public spaces. The grant requires a 50-50 local match.

Emily Bivens, Executive Director of Jamestown Tourism, said the project builds on Jamestown’s ongoing efforts to create more interactive, high-quality tourism experiences. When complete, the attraction will not only expand Frontier Village’s offerings but also create a lasting asset that enhances Jamestown’s year-round tourism appeal.

The $212,500 award was part of the 2025 Destination Development Grant Program, a statewide initiative providing $15 million to 23 projects that expand North Dakota’s tourism infrastructure and visitor experiences.
