Young nature enthusiasts are invited to take part in a fun and educational Bird Bus Tour hosted by the James River Valley Library and Stutsman County SCD & 319 on Friday, May 29.
Designed for children in grades K–8, the daylong adventure will give participants the chance to explore wildlife and bird habitats at the beautiful Arrowwood National Wildlife Refuge.
The bus will depart from the Alfred Dickey Library at 8 am and return around 3 pm. During the trip, participants will stop at several birdwatching locations throughout the refuge before heading to the ranger station for a hands-on educational presentation. Rangers will share information about local wildlife and birds, with specimens available for children to touch and examine.
Binoculars provided by Pheasants Forever will be available for birdwatching activities, and lunch will be provided for attendees.
Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.
Registration is required and can be completed through the James River Valley Library website.
