Jamestown ND (JPR) – May is here, and with it comes the start of a busy and exciting season at Jamestown Parks and Recreation District. As we head into warmer days, we’re kicking off summer programs, outdoor events, and opportunities for all ages to get active and connect. From parks and playgrounds to leagues and community gatherings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Join us as we jump into a season full of energy, fun, and time spent outdoors!

The 2026 Spring/Summer Activity Guide is now available and full of opportunities to stay active and connected with Jamestown Parks and Recreation District. The guide features a complete listing of programs, activities, and special events for all ages, along with helpful information about JPRD facilities, services, and parks.

Whether you’re planning youth sports, fitness classes, community events, or family activities, the Activity Guide is a great place to start. View the guide online at your convenience or pick up a printed copy at any JPRD facility.

TRAC Summer Camps

TRAC Summer Camps are now open for registration! Weekly camps will be offered during the summer for school-age children who have completed kindergarten. Camp runs from 7:45 am to 5:15 pm, and families can choose only the weeks they need care throughout the summer. Registration must be completed in person at the TRAC front desk. Spots fill quickly, so be sure to register early to secure your child’s place.

Summer Bike Rides

Kick off summer on two wheels! Join the Community Bike Ride on May 18 at Nickeus Park, hosted by the Jamestown Bike Riders Advocacy Group and sponsored by Dakota Central. Open to all ages, riders can choose from short or long routes while enjoying the outdoors and connecting with the community.

Check-in begins at 6:45pm with the ride starting at 7:00pm. Bikes and helmets are available, and helmets are required. Don’t miss this fun and active way to explore Jamestown! 

Tennis Block Party

Discover the FUN of Tennis at Bolinger Tennis Courts! Join us on May 28th from 6:30 – 8:00pm for an active, exciting, and FREE family night filled with professional tennis instruction, interactive games, lively music, delicious treats, and prizes for all ages and skill levels! No equipment? No problem—rackets are provided for kids and adults.

Kite Festival

Get ready to look up! The 32nd Annual Kite Festival returns to Meidinger Park Field May 29–31 from 10:00am–4:00pm. Hosted by JPRD and Wings on Strings Kite Club, this FREE event brings kite flyers from across the country and beyond for a weekend full of color and fun. 

Enjoy kite demos, candy drops, prizes, and family activities all weekend long, plus Saturday favorites like kids’ kite-building, the Kids Zone, vendor show, and the Mobile Literacy & Learning Lab. Don’t miss one of Jamestown’s most vibrant traditions! 

Summer Track Meets

Get moving this summer! Join us for Summer Track on Wednesday evenings in June at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium. Open to all ages, this free event is a fun way to run, compete, or just enjoy time on the track. Whether you’re racing or cheering from the stands, it’s a great way to stay active all summer long!

Family Intro to Pickleball

Looking for a fun way to get active together? Join us for Family Intro to Pickleball on June 2 & 4 from 6:00–7:00pm at the Two Rivers Activity Center Outdoor Courts! This beginner-friendly program is perfect for families of all ages to learn the game, spend time outdoors, and have fun together. No experience needed—just come ready to play!

Doubles Golf League

Grab your partner and hit the greens this summer! The Doubles Golf Flex League at Hillcrest Golf Course runs June 14 through September 5 and features a fun, flexible 9-hole scramble format with six matchups throughout the season. Open to adults ages 21+, this league wraps up with an exciting tournament in September. Sign up by June 1 and enjoy a summer of golf, friendly competition, and great company!

Youth Golf Programs

Calling all young golfers! Hillcrest Golf Course is offering two great opportunities this summer for ages 9–17 to learn the game, build skills, and have fun on the course. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to improve, these junior golf programs are the perfect way to get in the swing of things. Spots are limited—sign up today!
