Deborah “Debbie” Loftsgard, 66, Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family Wednesday, September 30, 2026 after a long battle with COPD.

Some of Debbie’s proudest accomplishments were raising her children and being instrumental in creating and managing the sober living homes known as Firm Foundations in Jamestown, North Dakota. Debbie loved dogs, especially Mocha and Maebelle. She had a green thumb that was evident the moment you walked into her home.

Debbie was born September 29, 1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She maintained sobriety for the last 29 years of her life. She was tirelessly devoted to those she loved. She was a steward to helping others on their path to recovery.

Debbie is well known for her words of wisdom; “this too shall pass”, “do you want to be right or do you want to be free?”, “Do the next right thing”, “Keep it simple stupid”-KISS.

She is survived by her husband, Pete Loftsgard; mother Mary Louise Meredith; brother, David Lambert (Vanessa) Lambert; sister Holly Dahlseid; sons Joe Suess (Heather Baker), Seth Dahlseid, Erik (MaKenzie) Lofstgard, Kylan Loftsgard (Hanna Hallwachs); daughters, Alex Suess (Terrence McGillivary), Jasmin (Jordan) Gengler and 19 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to Firm Foundations Sober Living or charity of your choice.

Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, October 12, 2026 at 1st Church of the Nazarene, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Greg Allen officiating. Services will be live streamed at j1naz.org.
