jetstream_Robbery1Jamestown (CSi)  Law enforecment agencies Thursday evening were searching for an individual reportedly connected to a robbery at Jetsteam Car Wash on 10th Street, Southeast in Jamestown.

Jamestown Police Department Major, John Johnson says the robbery was reported at 7:42 p.m.  No injuries were reported.

He says no weapon was observed by the clerk on duty, with the suspect who entered the store  described as a male about 6-feet tall, wearing a tan Carhart short coat, blue jeans, dark colored gloves and a hood pulled over his head with the drawstring pulled tight.  His face was covered.

He asked for money and left the store, on foot through a nearby alley.

No word on the amount of money taken.

jetstream RobberyAgencies responding included the Jamestown Police Department, the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and the North Dakota Highway Patrol, who immediately patrolled the area in a search effort, that lasted about 2 hours.

 Jetstream Car Wash is just down the street from from  Cenex store at the corner of Fourth Avenue and 10th Street Southeast, that was robbed on December  15th.

Police would not speculate if the two robberies are connected.

The investigation is continuing.

Previously:  The robbery set social media a-buzz with comments and speculation Thursday evening.  Early Facebook postings  indicated the robbery had occurred but incorrectly identified the suspect as a women in a ski-mask, with a gun, escaping on a snowmobile. 

While social media is fast, it is prone to embellishments and speculation as individuals pass along posts and add “what they heard”.
