Jamestown (CSi) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers today, starts water releases from Jamestown Dam at 100 cfs.
Pipestem Dam Manager, Bob Martin says, Pipestem Dam releases were reduced from 100 cfs to 50 cfs April 4, 2014, for a combined releases of 150 cfs.
He says, reducing the Pipestem Dam releases will allow the water held in the reservoir behind the dam to be released over a longer period of time.
The water level at Jamestown Dam has increased a foot since April 1 and two feet since the end of winter.
The water level at Pipestem Dam is currently at 1445.8 while the water level at Jamestown Dam is 1430.9 feet.
Levels at both reservoirs have increased from the snow from last Monday’s blizzard, which was measured at 11 inches.
The Corps may increase the release at Jamestown Dam until reaching 450 cfs, combined with the Pipestem release.
