Jamestown Regional Airport Authority, Chairman, Jim Boyd says Jamestown again has a market share of the aviation industry, with passengers no longer needing to fly out of Bismarck or Fargo, and stay close to home.

He pointed out that with Jamestown connected with the major Denver hub, residents can fly anywhere in the world from Jamestown, adding that the United Express/SkyWest service is a “game changer” for the Jamestown area.

He feels the addition of United Express/SkyWest is an indication of “good things will come,” to Jamestown, in that, in a year or so United Express/SkyWest will look at Jamestown boarding numbers and determine if Jamestown would be entitled to the larger 70 seat aircraft, and or more frequent flights.

The current federal Essential Air Service contract and subsidy expires at the end of June 2016.

Jamestown Regional Airport Manager, Mathew Leitner said Thursday’s resumption of air service to Jamestown was “Over the moon, with a jet contrail.”

He’s pleased that Jamestown now has premium air service from a major airling

United Express/SkyWest officials say that every flight is timed to provide extensive connection opportunities on hundreds of daily United Airlines flights in Denver.

Customers flying from Jamestown and Devils Lake enjoy the added comfort of flying onboard the 50-passenger Bombardier-manufactured Canadair Regional Jet 200 (CRJ200). These jet aircraft include food service, a flight attendant and restroom.

The 1:15 –p.m., Jamestown departure was headed to Devils Lake, and then on to Denver, as 22 passengers boarded Thursday afternoon for the two cities.
