Jamestown (CSi) Late Saturday afternoon, Jamestown Police was advising motorists to stay off streets in town during the torrential rain event.
Late Saturday afternoon, a weather system moving through Stutsman County dumped heavy rain and Jamestown streets experienced flooding.
The National Weather Service Office in Bismarck has cancelled the flash flood warning for east central Stutsman County, with the Flood Advisory still in effect until 10:30-p.m., Saturday.
Among flooded and closed streets was the viaduct on Fourth Avenue East, and the Third Street area between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue Southeast.
Jamestown Police reported that a family had to leave their home after a basement wall collapsed.
Police reported cars stalled on Jamestown streets and a tree down in the 900 block of 2nd Street Northeast, with 3-6-inches of water over streets.
As another round of heavy rain moved through Jamestown late Saturday night, a reminder that motorists should not drive vehicles into areas where water covers the roadway.
As of 11:25 p.m., Saturday, the CSi weather computer, at Historic Franklin in downtown Jamestown, had recorded 5.39-inches of rain, with more rainfall in the forecast. Local law enforcement reported another round of minor flooding in the Jamestown area.
