Krystal Carlascio, Miss Rodeo North Dakota Winter Show
2012 is the 23 year old daughter of James Carlascio of
Jamestown, ND and Michelle Kolb of Aberdeen, SD. Being able
to grow up in two hometowns instilled organizational skills and
a love for travel which have both become crucial to her rodeo
career.
Krystal grew up with her two younger brothers, Jace and
Grant, and her paint horse Sweet Pea. In High School she was
active in 4-H, track, soccer, dance, and of course, anything that
could be done from horseback! Rodeo has always been
Krystal’s number one passion.
While growing up Krystal has prided herself in competing at local
rodeos in barrel racing, goat tying, pole bending, and her
personal favorite break away roping. Being a role model for her
two younger brothers and young ladies everywhere has always
been a priority to Krystal. Her motto continues to be:
“Everything we do, no matter the outcome, will make us a better well rounded individual.”
With this motto she has balanced the demands of school, sports, life, and her love for rodeo.
Krystal obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from South Dakota State University in May of 2011. Since then she has worked as a registered nurse at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota.
Krystal enjoys helping people from all walks of life reach and

construction sites has been sentenced to five years in prison after

The U.S. Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop, livestock and weather report that harvest of the state’s late season crops was already seeing good progress before the moisture moved in.
The corn harvest advanced 27 percentage points to 63 percent complete, ahead of both last year’s pace and the five-year average. The sugar beet harvest at 37 percent is outpacing last year’s but slightly behind the average.
Pasture and range conditions are rated 37 percent very poor, 29 percent poor, 27 percent fair and 7 percent good.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Bismarck city commissioners have voted to
crack down on panhandling in the capital city.
An ordinance approved Tuesday is aimed at eliminating aggressive
panhandling, or begging in which people who are solicited for money
feel intimidated or threatened. It is not an outright ban on
panhandling, but it prohibits begging in many areas.
They include near ATMs, on school playgrounds, in parks, within
20 feet of a street or bus stop, in crosswalks, near public
restrooms and on street medians. Violators could face a fine
between $50 and $500, depending on the offense.
Commissioner Parrell Grossman says the ordinance should increase
public safety while still allowing a constitutionally permissible
activity.
The ordinance is modeled after one in Fargo, North Dakota’s
largest city.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A woman accused of stealing money while serving as treasurer of a Fargo roller derby team has been sentenced to 25 days in jail and ordered to repay $10,000.
The sentence handed down by Judge John Irby on Monday was harsher than what attorneys had requested. The joint sentencing recommendation had been for restitution and credit for 10 days that Louise Jauss had served on electronic home monitoring.
Irby said he didn’t feel that sentence would be sufficient. His order also means the felony theft conviction will stay on Jauss’ record. Her attorney is considering whether to try to withdraw her guilty plea.
The amount of money Jauss actually stole isn’t known.
