Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) has voted to charge $600 per acre annually as the rent for land that could possibly be used as a crew camp for the planned CHS nitrogen fertilizer project.
The Board of Directors decided to raise the rent from the $125 per acre annually, as recommended by the JSDC Executive Committee.
JSDC CEO, Connie Ova says, the land should be valued at industrial land and based the $600 per-acre, per-year rent on 10 percent of the value of the land.
Marketing communications director for CHS, Annette Degnan, has indicated previously that the company is reviewing several proposals for crew camps and said any discussions regarding the location of a crew camp would include local residents and law enforcement.
The proposed crew camp location is on land owned by the JSDC south of the Spiritwood Energy Park Association property and includes, water, sewer and natural gas service.
