BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Company and state health officials say the public has nothing to fear from the possibility that a medical waste incinerator in Fargo could accept Ebola hospital waste from other parts of the country.
Healthcare Environmental Services is on a California Health Department list of potential destinations for any Ebola-related waste. Director Chad Wold says the facility also has been contacted by companies in Indiana and Wisconsin that are putting together contingency plans for Ebola-related waste.
Wold says HES is not actively seeking such waste, and will evaluate any requests on a case-by-case basis.
