Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — Jamestown Mayor, Katie Andersen says, her first two years in office, have proven to be productive years, in association with the Jamestown City Council.
On Monday’s (Jul 2, 2012) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Mayor Andersen said the past two years have been “successful and productive,” in accomplishing city business.
She said the outgoing Council Members, Patrick Nygaard, and Ken Schulz input and votes on the council, were important in moving along projects.
The Mayor said she looks forward to working with newly elected Council Members, Steve Brubakken, and Daniel Buchanan, along with re-elected Council Member, Charlie Kourajian and Ramone Gumke, who was elected two years ago.
Projects have included addressing changes, in the Strategic Planning Committee meetings.
Two of those items addressed include, improvements to Jamestown’s aging sanitary sewer system, and construction of a water storage tower, planned for Southwest Jamestown.
She added the water tower and additional water capacity is important for Southwest Jamestown’s expansion, including more water pressure for fire fighting, which will help the entire city’s water needs.
Expansion started with the Jamestown Regional Medical Center’s opening last summer. Titan Machinery is planning a new facility in that area, plus other possible business expansions in that direction.
She pointed out that the sanitary sewer and water projects should be completed by October of 2013, as the projects are now in the engineering phase.
