Jamestown (CSi) With one member absent the Jamestown CityPlanning Commission has unanimously rejected an update to the existing zoning plan for Eventide Jamestown.
The vote was 7-0 with Mike Rhinehart absent.
The Eventide property is zoned a public, open development and conservation district, so it must submit a detailed plan for any construction projects for consideration.
A plan had been approved in 2013, but another approval was required because the plan was changed.
SRF Consulting, planner, Cindy Gray, presented the new information.
The new plan includes an L-shaped assisted-living facility in the southwest corner of the property with parking lots in the southeast and northwest corners.
The original plan placed the assisted-living facility in the northwest corner of the property. The new plan also included no plans for demolishing the existing skilled-nursing facility. It showed two outlines indicating possible locations for future new skilled nursing buildings.
Adjacent home owners indicated their concerns for the new plan.
Two lots, where homes had been purchased and demolished to create a greenspace buffer between Eventide and residential homes, were part of a parking lot in the new plan.
A resident, said litter on the streets around the property was a problem.
There was no representative from Eventide or its architectural firm at Monday’s meeting.
