Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Nov 15, 2012) – Plans are set for the annual Holiday Dazzle Parade in Jamestown.

Organizers are hoping it will be even bigger than past parades.

On our Thanksgiving Day Wayne Byers Show, on CSi Cable 2, Main Street Ambassador, Charlie Kourajian said, the association has contacted last year’s and former year’s participants to see if they will again participate in the parade, and encouraged new participants.

At last report, there are 44 floats expected in the parade.

Kourajian said, “People from our area really look forward to this holiday event and enjoy it immensely. In reading over the comment sheets from past years, parade goers want more and louder Holiday music and put on an extra set of lights, so they encourage participants to turn up the volume.”

All entries are asked to be at the south end of McElroy Park by 6:15 p.m. Friday, November 23 for the parade lineup.

The parade will begin at 7-p.m.

This year’s judges, Chris Rathjen, Jessica Haak and Alex Looysen will be viewing and judging the floats at 6:30 p.m.

This year the Main Street Downtown Association, parade sponsor, will be awarding cash prizes for the floats, first prize being $500, second $250 and third $100.

He adds, the After-Parade Party will be at the Gladstone Inn & Suites, with the Jamestown Choralaires entertaining with Christmas songs.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A jury has acquitted a North Dakota surgeon
accused of drugging and raping his wife on all counts.
The jury found 42-year-old Jon Norberg not guilty Wednesday of
gross sexual imposition and reckless endangerment. He could have
faced up to life in prison if convicted.
Alonna Norberg’s attorney argued that Jon Norberg had sex with
his unconscious wife after administering to her the anesthetic
propofol – the medication that gained notoriety during the trial of
the doctor who treated pop star Michael Jackson. Jon Norberg
contends that his wife made up the allegations to help in a looming
divorce and child custody case.
The Associated Press typically doesn’t identify alleged victims
of sex crimes, but Alonna Norberg has spoken publicly about the
case.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A man accused of sexually assaulting a
16-year-old girl in daylight outside an African market in Fargo has
been sentenced to serve two years in prison.
Twenty-six-year-old Bashir Noor was accused of assaulting the
girl in an alley outside the Somali Business Center in June. He
pleaded guilty in September to felony corruption of a minor.

He initially had been charged with gross sexual imposition but
prosecutors decided it would be difficult to prove that Noor forced
himself on the girl. Noor said the girl looked older and had
consented.
Noor was given credit for about six months he already has spent
behind bars. He will be on probation for five years following his
prison term.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Holiday travel weather was starting out
ideal in the Dakotas, but some air travelers were knocked off
schedule by fog in Chicago.
Sixty-three-year-old Robert Johnson, of Fargo, was trying to get
home to Houston but his arrival was pushed back about five hours to
10 p.m. He says the delay is out of his control so he was staying
calm.
Johnson, who owns a cleaning service in Fargo, says he’s looking
forward to yams, homemade cornbread and rice dressing, which are
“things I don’t get up here.”
Eighteen-year-old Katelyn Weimerskirch, a freshman at North
Dakota State University, was headed from Fargo to East Dubuque,
Ill., but feared she would get stuck in Chicago if her connecting
flight goes on time.
Says Weimerskirch, “The weather is not doing me any favors.”

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Holiday travelers in the Dakotas stand a
good chance of encountering a Highway Patrol trooper or two out on
the roads.
The Highway Patrol agencies in both North Dakota and South
Dakota say they are putting all available personnel on the road
Wednesday, from troopers to supervisors to command staff.
The day before Thanksgiving is typically one of the busiest
travel days of the year.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – The University of North Dakota is
already among the nation’s leading schools in developing unmanned
aircraft. Now the school is taking steps to lead the way in
studying the ethics of using drones.
The Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department may be using drones as
early as next spring to do things like survey the scenes of traffic
accidents or hazardous spills. But such use could raise privacy
issues.
A research committee at UND will create guidelines to handle
legal and ethical pitfalls that might come up with police use of
the drones.

A  preliminary version could be ready by January.
Congress has ordered the Federal Aviation Administration to
integrate drones into the U.S. airspace system by 2015. At least
three bills have already been introduced in Congress to address
concerns over privacy, security and other issues.

Strip — but this time it’s in celebration of a cease-fire with
Israel. The deal between the Israelis and the Hamas militant group
was worked out by Egypt to end eight days of the fiercest fighting
in nearly four years. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton,

people of Israel.” Egypt is supposed to play a key role in
maintaining the peace.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu is leaving open the possibility of a ground invasion of

Hamas after consulting with President Barack Obama.

exchange for an appointment to President Barack Obama’s vacated
Senate seat.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Officials in Indianapolis have ordered the
demolition of 29 homes in a neighborhood hit by a deadly house
explosion. Another four homes will likely be brought down, but for
now they’re part of the investigation into the blast. They include

a young couple died. Investigators are continuing to probe the
blast, which they’ve concluded was not an accident. Officials say
they believe natural gas was involved in the explosion.
