Burnett Brooks, 90, Jamestown, ND, died Sunday December 9, 2012 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown.

Burnett was born October 6, 1922, south of Cleveland, ND, the son of Byron and Hulda (Kurtz) Brooks. He grew to manhood in the vicinity where he helped on the family farm.

He was drafted into the US Army 1942 at Fort Snelling, MN. He was discharged 1943 at Fort Williams, Maine with the rank of PVT, and returned home to farm.

He and Daisie Hazer were married September 1, 1950 at Woodworth, ND. They made their home in Jamestown where he worked at Jamestown Grocery Wholesale for 27 years. He also had his own painting business. In 1982 he retired and they continued to reside in Jamestown.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the D.A.V. chapter #31 in Jamestown and enjoyed playing cards and going to dances.

He is survived by his wife Daisie, Jamestown, ND; 2 daughters, Barbara (Warren Batsch) Vilhauer, Jamestown, ND; Linda (John) Nistler, Moorhead, MN, 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Wilbert Brooks, and Luxton Brooks, both of Jamestown, ND, and 1 sister, Lucille Kolberg, Duluth, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers.

– 1:30 P.M. Wednesday December 12, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Rich Fitzer, officiating.
