Valley City (CSi)
, the largest and most complete triceratops fossil found anywhere to-date, has been on exhibit at the Barnes County Museum in Valley City since June 2014. Word has been received that it will be leaving for auction sometime before December 20th.
Discovered in Bowman County in 2003 on the Craig and Bobbi Eglund Elk Ranch, Alan Komrosky and Hell Creek Relics excavated the triceratops fossil that is over 70% complete in bone count and 90% in bone mass. It took Alan and crew 11 years to bring the fossil they named Bob to exhibition and premiered it at the Barnes County Museum in Valley City, ND, in June 2014.
Museum Director, Wes Anderson says , “Wewill be very sorry to see Bob leave our facility. It has been a wonderful draw for visitors and an incredible opportunity to host a world class exhibit such as Bob.”
Alan Komrosky can be contacted at 701-840-8010
The Barnes County Museum will be extending its hours to offer more people the opportunity to see Bob before it leaves. We’re not certain of the schedule as yet.
