Jamestown officers spotted the vehicle traveling west on Old Highway 10. The vehicle then turned south on 86th Avenue Southeast and then into a farm yard where officers apprehended the suspect. No weapons were found in the vehicle.

Blinsky says the investigation is continuing, but several arrests are anticipated.
Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Fire Department was called to a house fire about 1:55 p.m., on Thursday, Dec 24, at 2007 2nd Place, Northeast
The cause was listed in a faulty ceiling heat fan in the bathroom, which caused a smoldering fire.
Fire fighters pulled out attic insulation, after the owner had removed the ceiling fan, which the fire department removed from the home, to prevent a rekindle.
Fire damage was confined to the bathroom, and attic rafters.
No injuries were reported.
The residents, Jim and Diane Nygaard were able to remain in their home.
Five City Fire Department units and 21 firefighters were on the scene for about an hour and a half.

BURLINGTON, N.D. (AP) – Authorities have identified a Washington state man who died in a snowmobile crash in North Dakota on Christmas Eve.
The Highway Patrol says 56-year-old Norman Pool Jr., of Goldendale, Washington, lost control and crashed the snowmobile into a parked car in Burlington. He was thrown from the machine and killed.
Investigators say Pool was not wearing a helmet. He was alone on the snowmobile.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – No one was hurt in a small fire at a retirement home in Fargo, and damage was kept to a minimum.
Authorities say an employee at Bethany Retirement Living put out the flames with a fire extinguisher Sunday afternoon, and residents did not have to be evacuated.
Firefighters used fans to ventilate smoke from the building’s first and second floors.
The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately determined.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A Fargo man accused of distributing large quantities of methamphetamine in Fargo and in Sisseton, South Dakota, is being held without bond.
Roble Hernandez is charged in federal court with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. He has waived his right to a detention hearing.
Authorities say Hernandez’s residence was being used as a “stash house” for an out-of-state drug trafficking organization. A woman who lived with Hernandez had allegedly stolen five pounds of meth and members of the cartel came to Fargo and assaulted her to gain information about the missing drugs.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Alice Senechal (SEN’-ah-shawl) says she may reconsider Hernandez’s bond at a later date “if additional facts are available.” Trial has not been scheduled.
A federal public defender could not be reached for comment.
WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – An Arizona woman has admitted that she caused a crash in the western North Dakota oil patch that killed three men during the summer.
Court records show that 20-year-old Kayla Ciha, of Tucson, has pleaded guilty to three felony counts of negligent homicide and one misdemeanor count of aggravated reckless driving.
Authorities say Ciha caused a crash on a McKenzie County road on July 30th while trying to pass a pickup truck in a no-passing zone. The crash killed men from North Dakota, Michigan and Idaho, and injured one other man. Ciha wasn’t hurt.
The Williston Herald previously reported that Ciha had been working at a preschool in Williston.
Northwest District Judge Robin Schmidt has set Ciha’s sentencing hearing for March 30th.
Bismarck (CSi) Fireworks sales began Saturday and continue through midnight Friday. They can be discharged from 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve to 1 a.m. New Year’s Day, after it was approved by the Legislature in 2013.
Bob’s Fireworks City, in Bismarck notes, that unlike Independence Day sales, the after-Christmas buyers tend to favor bigger fireworks over multiple smaller ones.
For a successful winter launch, owner Bob Heringer suggests revelers create a plywood base to set off their firereworks. Different municipalities have different rules on fireworks.
In Jamestown, fireworks sales and detonation is allowed during the state allowable dates and times.
NEW SALEM, N.D. (AP) – The Morton County Commission has approved $16,500 from the county’s development fund for a grocery store under construction in New Salem.
Tellmann’s Market will employ a minimum of eight workers. The town has been without a grocery store for several years.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Housing officials say North Dakota residents interested in helping develop affordable housing in the state still have time to earn a credit on their 2015 state income tax.
Officials say residents can get the tax credit as long as the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency receives their contribution to the state’s Housing Incentive Fund by December 31st.
The Housing Incentive Fund provides developers of affordable rental housing with low-cost financing if they agree to set aside units for essential service workers and low- to moderate-income households.
The program gives individual and business donors a dollar-for-dollar tax credit. Donors are allowed to designate their contributions for specific projects.
The fund has received more than $24 million in contributions since it was established.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum in Bismarck is showing free movies between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
The lineup includes Toy Story on Monday, The Rescuers on Tuesday, The Muppet Movie on Wednesday, and An American Tail on Thursday.
Show times are 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. in the Russell Reid Auditorium. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The community of St. John in Rolette County has been awarded more than $50,000 in federal funds to improve its connectivity to more reliable water sources.
The funds for the community of about 340 people were authorized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development agency.
U.S. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp says the money is meant to help the community find new water sources, drill a new well and connect to an existing water main to provide neighborhoods the water resources they need.
Heitkamp says it is critical that officials make sure that rural areas across North Dakota “can rely on the same level of access offered in bigger cities.” She says residents of rural North Dakota depend on readily available water for their homes, farms and ranches year-round.
WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) – The Chahinkapa Zoo in Wahpeton is discussing how it will respond to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s new regulations for levees.
Officials plan to continue clearing fencing and trees and relocate structures, including proposed housing for white rhinoceros, near a levee that runs down the middle of the zoo.
Public Works Director Dennis Miranowski says the work likely will be done next summer because FEMA wants modifications completed by October.
FEMA has continued to raise standards for levees since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The agency’s current standards call for a “clear zone” of 15 feet on both sides of a levee.
Zoo officials say adding the southern white rhinoceros could bring in between 13,000 to 22,000 more visitors a year.

Dave Henderson dies from heart attack
SEATTLE (AP) – Former major league outfielder Dave Henderson has died at 57 after suffering a massive heart attack.
Henderson was best known for his home run in the 1986 AL Championship Series for Boston. With the Red Sox one strike from elimination in Game 5, Henderson hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth against the California Angels to send the series back to Boston. The Red Sox won Games 6 and 7 to advance to the World Series.
He also hit a tiebreaking, solo home run in the 10th inning of Game 6 of the ’86 World Series, but the Red Sox blew a 5-3 lead and a chance to win their first championship in 68 years, a drought that would continue another 18 years.
Henderson played in 575 regular-season games during that span, hitting .275 with 84 homers, 123 doubles and 322 RBIs. Henderson was an All-Star in 1991.

BAGHDAD (AP) – The head of military operations in Anbar province cautions that the Islamic State group maintains control in parts of the provincial capital, Ramadi. Gen. Ismail al-Mahlawi walked back an earlier statement by a military spokesman that the city had been liberated. MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (AP) – Officials are warning the death toll could rise in the northeast Nigerian city of Maiduguri (my-DOO’-goor-ee) following the first attack in months by Boko Haram (BOH’-koh hah-RAHM’) Islamic extremists. At least 30 people died when the militants attacked using rocket-propelled grenades and multiple suicide bombers. PR Nigeria, an agency that disseminates government news, says Nigerian troops “intercepted and destroyed” 10 suicide bombers and repelled the attackers.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – There’s either too much snow or too much floodwater in Oklahoma this morning. Oklahoma highway officials say many roads are impassable. Parts of western and central Oklahoma are under a winter storm warning while flooding is a major concern in the eastern part of the state. Missouri flooding is expected to continue. It’s all from the same system that left Dallas with major tornado damage. Since Wednesday, 43 people have died in severe weather, including at least 11 in Dallas and eight in Missouri.
VENTURA, Calif. (AP) – Southern California authorities have a new concern today as a wildfire on the coast is in mop-up stage. Officials are worried about charred hillsides coming down the next time there’s heavy rain because there’s no vegetation to hold them together. That could threaten nearby railroad tracks, U.S. 101 and the Pacific Coast Highway.
CHICAGO (AP) – Researchers say a decline in asthma rates in U.S. children in the latest study varies by region, race and age. Despite the overall decline at the end of the 2001-13 study, children younger than 5, Mexican kids, those in the Midwest and those from families that weren’t poor had the best results. Rates plateaued among whites and those living in the Northeast and West, but increased in those aged 10 to 17, kids from poor families and those living in the South.
