Oklahoma didn’t just move to the top of The Associated Press Top 25, the Sooners are a unanimous No. 1.
Coming off a week with two 2-point wins, the Sooners (15-1) received all 65 first-place votes from the national media panel on Monday. It is Oklahoma’s first time at No. 1 since the final two weeks of 1989-90. Kentucky was a unanimous No. 1 for 12 weeks last season.
Oklahoma becomes the fifth school to be No. 1 this season, joining North Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan State and Kansas.
North Carolina jumps three spots to No. 2 while Kansas, which lost to West Virginia last week, dropped two places to No. 3.
Villanova is fourth followed by Xavier, West Virginia, Maryland, SMU, Iowa and Texas A&M.
No. 21 Southern California, ranked for the first time since 2008-09, and No. 25 Indiana, which returns after being out the last seven weeks, are this week’s newcomers, replacing Pittsburgh and Gonzaga.

Duke’s streak of 312 straight weeks in The Associated Press women’s basketball poll is over.
The Blue Devils entered the Top 25 on Nov. 29, 1999 and hadn’t left until Monday. It’s the third longest streak in the history of the poll since it began in 1976. Only Tennessee (561) and UConn (423) have had longer runs in the Top 25. The Huskies remained No. 1 on Monday after routing Memphis and Temple this past week by an average of 47.5 points.
UConn was followed by South Carolina, Notre Dame, Baylor and Maryland. Texas dropped to sixth after losing its first game of the season to Baylor on Sunday.
Duke (13-6) has lost three of its last five games to Syracuse, Louisville and N.C. State. The Blue Devils spent 34 weeks at No. 1 during its 16-year run.
