NarumDaniel-1Jamestown (CSi) District Judge Daniel D. Narum has been elected to a three-year term as presiding judge of the Southeast Judicial District.

Presiding judges are elected by majority vote of the judges of each district.

Narum will continue his work as a trial court judge. As presiding judge he will have additional administrative and management duties in the district.

The Southeast Judicial District includes Stutsman, Barnes, Richland, Dickey, LaMoure, Ransom, Sargent, Logan, McIntosh, Eddy, Wells, Foster, Griggs and Kidder counties.

Narum was appointed by then Gov. John Hoeven, R-N.D., in 2006, elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2010.

Narum served in the U.S. Navy and is a graduate of North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota School of Law.

Narum is a Rutland, N.D., native and fourth-generation North Dakotan. He lives in LaMoure with his wife, Caroline Homan, and their two children.
