Thorsteinson says some garages and cars in the city also were burglarized at the same time.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – A Grand Forks woman has been charged with murder in the death of a man whose body was found in a vehicle at a truck stop in the city last week.
Northeast Central Judicial District Judge Lolita Romanick on Monday set a $500,000 bond for 31-year-old Krystal Feist. She was arrested Friday, hours after police found the body of 24-year-old Austin Forsman, also of Grand Forks.
Authorities say Feist drove to the truck stop and shot Forsman, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of another vehicle.
Feist is at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center. She requested court-appointed defense services Monday, but court records do not list an attorney who could comment on the case. She is scheduled to appear in court again April 18 for a preliminary hearing.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Gasoline prices continue to rise in North Dakota by more than a dime a week.
GasBuddy.com reports the average retail price of a gallon of gas rose about 11 cents per gallon in the last week, after rising nearly 11 cents per gallon the previous week and more than 12 cents the week before that.
The average is now $1.94 per gallon. But that’s still 48 cents a gallon cheaper than a year ago.
The national average increased 12 cents per gallon in the past week, to $1.93.
Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says the upward trend in gas prices will continue, and the national average will soon hit $2 per gallon. But he says motorists still could see the cheapest average summer gas prices in more than a decade.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The state Historical Society says the need to address erosion at the Double Ditch Indian Village State Historic Site north of Bismarck is becoming more urgent.
Erosion has plagued the site on the Missouri River for about five years. 16 burial sites have been exposed and subsequently moved.
Fern Swenson with the Historical Society says another landslide is developing that goes through the village itself. She calls it “an emergency situation.”
The Legislature last year approved $3.5 million to address erosion at the site. State officials are seeking a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Historians believe Double Ditch was home to Mandan Indians for nearly 300 years, before a smallpox epidemic.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota State University Foundation has established a scholarship in honor of the school’s athletics longtime play-by-play broadcaster who passed away last month.
The foundation has established the Scott Miller Athletic Scholarship Endowment Fund. The scholarship will support student-athletes, with preference given to some students, including members of the varsity football and basketball teams and students pursuing a journalism degree.
Scott Miller died on Feb. 25 after a nearly four-year fight against cancer. He was 57.
The Minot native was the voice of Bison football and basketball for the last 20 years, including the last six at KFGO radio. He also did play-by-play for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks independent baseball team.
Miller was known for his signature phrase “My oh my!” after big plays by Bison athletes.

In world and national news…
WASHINGTON (AP) – House Speaker Paul Ryan says candidates must accept responsibility for clashes that occur at their campaign events and should never condone or encourage violence. The comment is a not-so-veiled shot at Donald Trump, whose supporters fought with opposing demonstrators at a Chicago event that was later canceled. Trump’s stop Monday in North Carolina was disrupted several times but ended without violence. North Carolina, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri and Florida vote tomorrow. Separately, Sarah Palin will not appear at a Trump campaign event in Florida because her husband was in what’s described as a “bad” snow machine accident.
GENEVA (AP) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the start of the pullout of the Russian military from Syria. Putin says the move should help serve as a stimulus for Syria’s political talks. The pullout Putin says was coordinated with Syrian President Bashar Assad is expected to start tomorrow. A Russian airbase and naval facility in the country will continue to operate.
ANKARA, Turkey (AP) – Turkey is bombing Kurdish targets and rounding up dozens of militants at home after a suicide car bombing in the heart of the country’s capital. The Turkish prime minister says there are “strong indications” yesterday’s attack was carried out by rebels in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK.
