MANDAN, N.D. (AP) – No one was hurt when a construction truck crashed into a home in a newly developed neighborhood in Mandan.
Homeowner Carrie Zent says she thought a window had blown in downstairs on a stormy Wednesday night. When she went to check she saw the damage and the truck and called 911.
The construction truck and trailer were loaded with concrete molds. The truck was parked on a downhill slope, and somehow broke loose and plowed into the home’s office area.
MINOT, N.D. (AP) – Minot police have arrested two people after recovering counterfeit money and equipment used to make it during a search of a residence.
Authorities say they also uncovered drugs and drug paraphernalia in the home on Wednesday.
Police say the fake money is linked to some recent cases in which bogus bills have been passed at businesses.
Officers arrested a 23-year-old woman on felony drug and counterfeiting charges, and a 29-year-old man on a felony drug charge. Formal charges were pending.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Authorities have filed 22 felony charges against a man in connection with a bust in Fargo that police say netted numerous narcotics, weapons and counterfeit bills.
Twenty-three-year-old John Iten faces drug, forgery and child endangerment charges. The Associated Press requested comment Thursday from defense attorney Mark Beauchene.
Iten could enter pleas at a May 11 hearing. He could face life in prison without parole if convicted of the more serious charges against him.
Fargo police say they recovered methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, marijuana, ecstasy, LSD, various painkillers, testosterone and anabolic steroids in the bust earlier this week, along with loaded guns including an AK-47 rifle. Police Lt. Shannon Ruziska called it “one of the most significant and visually appealing busts” in recent memory.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Fargo’s Hector International Airport has landed the Fed Ex Express air cargo company.
Airport Authority Executive Director Shawn Dobberstein says a five-year contract has been signed that calls for the airport to make about $1.4 million in improvements to accommodate up to 20 Fed Ex Express flights daily.
In return, Hector International will receive about $115,000 in landing fees per year and could take in an additional $100,000 in federal airport funding related to air cargo operations.
Fed Ex Express will move from the Grand Forks airport, with the first Fargo flights expected in the fall. The company cites enhanced service to customers in North Dakota and northern Minnesota for the move. About 75 people will work for Fed Ex Express in Fargo.

In world and national news…
WASHINGTON (AP) – Donald Trump’s presidential campaign could be dragging down the brand. Not just his own brand — but that of the Republican Party. That’s the indication of a new poll finding that a majority of Americans who were surveyed now view the GOP unfavorably. Two out of three said they view the party negatively. The new poll finds that 48 percent have a favorable view of the Democratic Party, while 50 percent have an unfavorable view.
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) – As he faces the increasing likelihood of a contested Republican convention, Donald Trump is expanding the role of veteran political operative Paul Manafort in his campaign. A statement says Manafort will “be responsible for all activities” involving the delegate process and the convention itself. The announcement comes as the candidate refocuses his efforts on his home state of New York. Trump has canceled a planned trip to California, including a press conference that had been scheduled for tomorrow.
BRUSSELS (AP) – He’s known as “the man in the hat” — and authorities in Brussels want to know a lot more about him. He was seen at the Brussels airport with two suicide bombers before they died in the March 22nd attacks. And photos released by prosecutors from surveillance cameras show him leaving the airport on foot, walking to a nearby town and then into Brussels. At some point, he discarded the white jacket he was wearing. Prosecutors are appealing for help from anyone who might have seen him, or who might know anything about him.
BERLIN (AP) – Bavarian police say they have arrested two men, an Iraqi and a Nigerian, on suspicion that they may have been preparing a “serious act of violence.” They say the two men were detained in Munich Thursday following a tip to security authorities. A newspaper (Sueddeutsche Zeitung) quotes a prosecutor as saying there had been indications that the two men were in contact with members of the Islamic State group.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indiana Gov. Mike Pence’s office says it has confidence that the state’s new abortion law is constitutional despite a court challenge from the American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky. A spokeswoman says Pence will work with the state attorney general to defend the law, which bans abortions that are sought because of genetic abnormalities.
