He adds that a large amount of smoke was coming from the home when the units arrived.
He says the fire caused considerable smoke and fire damage to the interior of the home, which is under investigation.

(CSi) A young male who was reported missing at about 12:30AM Tuesday morning near Gackle has been found safe.
Stutsman County Sheriff, Chad Kaiser says, the 13 year-old was last seen 5 miles North and 1 mile East of Gackle Monday night. Kaiser says the boy was found alive and well, in a camper, about 10-a.m. Tuesday.
Kaiser says the boy’s name was not released due to being a minor.
He says the boy’s parents notified authorities, and a search began which included the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and the Highway Patrol Fargo office which provided a bloodhound in the search.
Local residents from Cleveland assisted, providing a four wheeler.
Kaiser says a neighbor searched his property, and found the youth hiding in his camper.
He adds, the boy has been taken to the South Central Human Service Center in Jamestown for counseling.
Jamestown(CSi) This week has been designated, “Severe Summer Weather Awareness Week,” for the entire state of North Dakota by Governor Jack Dalrymple.
On Tuesday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Stutsman County Emergency Manager, and 9-1-1- Co-Ordinator Jerry Bergquest said, this annual event is designed to remind the public of the dangers associated with severe summer weather including: lightning, high winds, large hail, flash floods and tornadoes. All of which, can cause severe property damage, personal injury, and even death.
He said as part of the awareness week activities, the annual statewide tornado exercise will be conducted. The exercise is scheduled to begin at about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, with a simulated tornado warning issued by the National Weather Service. In response to the simulated warning, a countywide exercise of the emergency operations plan will take place.
Bergquist added that the plan is designed to warn the greatest number of people in the least amount of time. As part of the exercise, sirens will be activated in area communities including the seven sirens located City of Jamestown, along with the siren test in the communities of Buchanan, Cleveland, Medina and Streeter. In most communities, sirens will be activated for approximately 3 minutes. In addition, the simulated warning will be broadcast over the National Weather Service all-hazards weather radio system, local AM/FM radio stations and the CSi Cable interrupt system.
He pointed out that the most common reason a community’s warning sirens are activated is to warn the public of a possible tornado. However, sirens could also be activated to alert the public of other types of events that could be a danger to the community.
Hearing the sirens is the signal to tune into any of the local radio stations and listen for official instructions. CSi Cable subscribers can also turn on their TV and hear official instructions.
Information may also be provided via the CodeRED notification system, which Stutsman County subscribes to, and the Stutsman County Facebook page.

Update….
POPLAR, Mont. (AP) A woman has been charged with murder in the beating death of a 13-month-old girl under her care on an American Indian reservation in Montana.
The Fort Peck Tribal Court clerk’s office says Janelle Reddog pleaded not guilty during a Tuesday court appearance in Poplar.
Earlier…
– A woman was due in a tribal court in Montana on Tuesday to face charges in the alleged beating death of a 13-month-old girl under her care on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.
Investigators say 42-year-old Janelle Red Dog killed Kenzley Olson and put her body in a dumpster before reporting her missing April 19.
That triggered an Amber alert for Kenzley in Montana and North Dakota. It was canceled after Red Dog purportedly confessed and led authorities to the girl’s body.
Red Dog’s lawyer has said she admitted to authorities that she struck Kenzley on three occasions. But defense attorney Mary Zemyan said it was uncertain if that’s what killed the girl.
The baby’s mother was in jail on unspecified allegations when she died.
WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) – Flooding caused an estimated $4,000 in damage to Wahpeton High School.
The roof drain became disconnected from a drain pipe during rain on Sunday, leading to the problem early Monday.
Buildings and Grounds Supervisor Dale Bartnick says water came in through the ceiling. Principal Ned Clooten says hundreds of gallons of water flooded the tile floor in a commons area.
The problem did not affect classes.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A man facing a murder charge in a fatal beating outside of a Fargo bar last year is set for trial this summer.
Thirty-four-year-old Jason Oien is scheduled for a nine-day trial beginning June 21. The trial initially was scheduled for late March but it was delayed due to new evidence and witnesses in the case.
Oien could face life in prison without parole if convicted of killing 35-year-old Joey Gaarsland in May 2015. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges including murder and three counts of criminal conspiracy.
Three other people charged in the case have pleaded guilty and could testify against Oien.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Health Department says about 42 gallons of natural gas liquids spilled at a gathering pipeline and entered a tributary to the Green River in Billings County.
North Dakota Water Quality Director Karl Rockeman says Monday’s spill of about one barrel of condensate into Spring Creek was reported by pipeline operator Oneok Rockies Midstream.
Rockeman says staff members from the North Dakota Industrial Commission Oil and Gas Division and the Department of Health are at the site and will continue to monitor the cleanup. The site is about 13 miles north and four miles east of Belfield.
Condensate is a byproduct of natural gas production.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The welcome rains in western North Dakota have put a damper on plans to clean up a 200-mile stretch of highway.
The project is meant to pick up trash along Highway 85 from Bowman, in far southwestern North Dakota, to the oil patch in the northwestern part of the state. Citizens and volunteers from various groups had signed up for this week’s effort.
Organizer Cal Klewin says the cleanup has been extended through May 7 and groups are being asked to participate when they can. He says the state Transportation Department will patrol the roadway through that time and be on the lookout of trash bags.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota lawmakers serving on the interim Political Subdivisions Taxation Committee say they’re concerned about a lack of transparency related to angel fund tax credits.
The officials on Tuesday outlined a stark contrast between reporting requirements and standards in North Dakota and Minnesota for granting and tracking the credits.
State law allows, but doesn’t require, the tax department to provide information to North Dakota Legislative Management. That includes the names of qualified angel funds, the names of businesses in which the funds made an investment, the principal location of each business invested in as well as the date and amount invested in each fund.
Rep. Mike Nathe, a Bismarck Republican, says the issue raises a ton of red flags.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A program that provides grants to conservation projects across North Dakota will consider only five projects totaling about $1.1 million next month.
Previous Outdoor Heritage Fund grant rounds have involved amounts of at least $2.5 million. But the fund is getting less than half the money expected during the two-year budget cycle due to the oil slowdown.
The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1qQbDLt ) that’s led to more scrutiny of projects, to ensure the available dollars are being well spent.
The Outdoor Heritage Fund gets a percentage of oil and gas production taxes. The goal is to restore land affected by energy production and to develop such things as fish and wildlife habitat and outdoor recreation areas.
The fund is overseen by the state Industrial Commission, which next meets on May 23.

TIMBERWOLVES-THIBODEAU…
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Tom Thibodeau is coming to the Minnesota Timberwolves with more influence than he’s ever had. But he says the dual roles of president of basketball operations and coach do not make him the czar in Minnesota.
Thibodeau and general manager Scott Layden held their introductory press conference on Tuesday. And Thibodeau, the former Chicago coach, says the power structure is “about alignment. It’s not about power.”
Thibodeau and Layden envision a collaboration similar to what Gregg Popovich and R.C. Buford have in San Antonio to help take the Timberwolves from a team that has missed the playoffs for 12 straight years and make them into a contender in the Western Conference.
Wolves owner Glen Taylor says he brought in Thibodeau and Layden because he saw the opportunity to build a championship contender over the long haul.
NBA…
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Golden State’s Steve Kerr is the NBA coach of the year after the Warriors set a single-season record with 73 victories. Portland Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts finished a close second in the balloting, followed by Gregg Popovich of San Antonio.
WASHINGTON (AP) – The Washington Wizards have announced the hiring of Scott Brooks as their new head coach and will introduce him at a news conference on Wednesday.

Brooks’ hiring comes as Durant is scheduled to become a free agent in July.

DALLAS (AP) – A Dallas judge has set a $1,500 bond for former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel in his misdemeanor domestic assault case.
Manziel’s attorney, Robert Hinton, said Wednesday that the 23-year-old quarterback is expected to turn himself in for booking next week, though no date has been set.
The Heisman Trophy winner and former Texas A&M star was indicted by a grand jury this week after his ex-girlfriend alleged he hit her and threatened to kill her during a night out in January. She alleged she was hit so hard that she temporarily lost hearing in one ear.
Manziel faces a Class A misdemeanor that carries up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
Manziel has been dropped by two agents and his endorsers.
