Jamestown (CSi) Saturday May 14, 2016 is the 24th Annual, Letter Carriers, Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
Jamestown postal service will also be assisting in the drive.
The U-S Postal Service is asking residents to set bags of non-perishable foods – cereal, pasta, canned fruits and vegetables – next to their mailbox on Saturday. Carriers will pick them up and bring the donated items to local food banks, to help stock some North Dakota food banks for about six months.
In 2015, the nationwide drive brought in about 71 million pounds of non-perishable food.
One in 12 North Dakotans continues to struggle with hunger.
