Jamestown (CSi) Two water main breaks in Jamestown Thursday led to water outages.
Jamestown Utilities Operations Director Steve Suko says,
the two water main breaks occurred in northeast Jamestown.
The first occurred Thursday morning at the work site for the Harold Newman Arena under construction on the campus of the University of Jamestown. Suko says workers there accidentally broke a water main at the site. He said the city was able to get water service restored in the 12th Avenue and 7th Street Northeast area by midmorning.
Suko said residents and businesses within the 17th Avenue and 5th Street Northeast area experienced water outages due to another water main break at the site of the Two Rivers Activity Center off of 5th Street Northeast. He said Thursday afternoon he was unsure when that water main break would be repaired.
