Luella Kunze, age 86, of Valley City, died Tuesday, May 17th at her residence in Valley City. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Monday, May 23rd at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Monday afternoon. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery near Dazey, ND.
   Luella Marie Stroh was born May 4, 1930 at Jamestown, the daughter of George and Christina (Fischer) Stroh.   Lue grew up and attended school in Eckelson and then they moved to Tower City. Lue married the love of her life Herman Kunze July 8,1955 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Oriska.  The couple moved to Valley City where they raised t he children.  Lue worked as a CNA at the Sheyenne Care Center and then at St. Ann’s wing at Maryvale, where she felt at peace taking care of the retired nuns.  Luella retired in 2010.  She was known for always taking care of people, she took care of her parents, her father-in-law and her husband until their passing. She prayed daily for her family and friends and many prayers were answered. She was always concerned about taking care of everyone else’s needs and welcoming them into her home and making sure they had something delicious to eat. She prayed daily for her family and friends and many prayers were answered.  She loved canning and making jelly for her family.  She loved visiting with her grandchildren, going to mass and out for coffee.    One of her most favorite places to go was McDonald’s.           
   Lue is survived by her children Allan Kunze, Valley City, Robert (Linda) Kunze Grand Forks, Karen (Al) Lien, Jamestown, and Christine (Robert) Westerhausen, Va lley City.  Nine grandchildren Deanna Keys, Nicholas Mauch, Tim(Stephanie)Kunze, Melissa (Dan)Chandler, Danyell(Cory) Quintero, David(Sarah)Keys, Samantha (Peter)Wiechman, Joshua Mauch, and Derek (Renita)Westerhausen and 7 great grandchildren, Jayden, Kayne,  Spencer, Jaxon,  Aria, Caleb Herman and Raphael.            
   Lue was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, 7 brothers and 3 sisters and one daughter-in-law. Lue was loved dearly by her family and will be greatly missed.
