Authorities say Robertson was drinking with five other people in his Dodge Durango early on Dec. 19. Several occupants allegedly argued with Robertson about his erratic and unsafe driving and eventually left the vehicle while it was parked on a reservation road.

Investigators say Robertson ran over Azure as he was waving his arms at Robertson to stop.

A change of plea hearing has not been scheduled.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) – A Minot man accused of trying to flee from officers two straight days last month is now accused in another chase in which a Highway Patrol vehicle was rammed.

Authorities say 34-year-old Trenton Kary was driving a stolen car recklessly when a trooper stopped him near Minot Thursday. Kary allegedly rammed the trooper’s vehicle, disabling it, and fled, leading officers with multiple agencies on an hour-long chase.

Kary allegedly tried to ram two more squad cars during the chase that ended when he went into a slough near Drake and was tracked down by a police dog.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) – The Head Start program in Minot has been forced to cut staff and reduce the number of students it can enroll this fall.

Director Karen Knowles says budget woes due in part to rising health insurance costs are to blame.

The Head Start and Early Head Start programs are aimed at affordable early childhood education.

The Minot program has laid off a family service worker and the entire staff at the Head Start classroom in Mohall, closing the program there. Other employees have had their hours cut back, and some classroom slots have been eliminated at the programs in Minot.

Knowles says the cuts couldn’t be avoided, but she says it’s still “the hardest decision I’ve ever had to do.”
