BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Bernie Sanders won North Dakota’s Democratic presidential nominating contests on Tuesday, capitalizing on a caucus system that has served him well to at least momentarily slow presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton.
The Vermont senator outpolled Clinton nearly 2-to-1 as his enthusiastic backers turned out at caucus sites around the state. And they ranged from Sanders’ well-known younger supporters to the very old.
