Darrell Charles Hansen, age 78, of Sanborn, ND, died at his lake cabin on Monday June 13, 2016.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 17th, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. A. Gaddigotti celebrant. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 7 PM Thursday at Sacred Heart Church with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sanborn, ND.

 

Darrell Hansen was born April 21, 1938 in Valley City, ND the son of Patrick and Catherine (Brandenberg) Hansen. He attended school in Sanborn, ND.  On February 24, 1955 he married Margaret “Peggy” Borg. He later married Mary Johnson on July 14, 1972. Over his lifetime Darrell was a self employed farmer and he retired 3 years ago. Darrell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his hands.  He was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

 

Darrell is survived by his children: Terri (Hy) Schlieve, Page, ND, Mike (Angie) Hansen, Kenmare, ND, and Jeanie (Ray) Stahl, Gwinner, ND, and Jeremy (Carlotta) Hansen, Spiritwood, ND.  Step Children Wayne (Mary) Johnson, Brookville, MD, Marilyn (Tim) Waddington, Yakima, WA, Susan (Steven) Roemmich, Spiritwood, ND, Bryan Johnson, Montpelier, ND; 27 grandchildren, and 54 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marilyn Johnson.  Sons Patrick Hansen, and James Hansen; step son Major Alan Johnson, grand sons Quinn Hansen and Aiden Vaughn; great granddaughter Lucy Hashbarger.
