Wallace “Wally” Wolsky, 91, Fargo, died Thursday, June 16, in Bethany Homes.

Wally and Dolores, his wife of 59 years, raised four sons on their farm in Barnes County. He had  a long career in sales and enjoyed retirement as an author, traveling and speaking about his book,  Secret Death-Defying Escape Finally Told.  He was a born storyteller who could light up any room.

As a young man, Wally was very involved in the early years of the Nonpartisan League’s merger with the Democratic Party. He was an endorsed candidate for statewide office in 1960 and active in party politics all his life. He was on a first-name basis with every party leader from Langer to Burdick.

 

 He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores (Menge), and son, Steven. He is survived by his sons, Greg (Liv Tollefson), Mark (Caroline) and Reginald, and grandchildren, Alexander, Zoe and Greta.

 

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at Mavis Whiting Chapel at Bethany Homes. The family’s longtime pastor and friend, Rev. Brad  Edin, will officiate. Interment with full military honors will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in  Valley City, N.D.
