Sink hole at 5 Av & 5 St NE in Jamestown

The intersection of 5th St NE & 5^th Ave NE will be closed for street/utility repairs.  Traffic will be routed to ONE lane both North & South bound on 5^th Ave NE.

5^th St NE will be closed from 4^th Ave NE to 6^th Ave NE to through traffic during the street/utility repairs. Traffic/Detour signage will be posted as necessary.

Motorists and other traffic should use extreme caution when entering detoured areas. The public should consider alternate routes if possible.

Previously reported:  The Jamestown Street Department has blocked off part of 5th Avenue Northeast at 5th Street Northeast due to  a sinkhole.   It’s roughly a foot wide and a foot long, and the road has washed out.

The inside lanes on 5th Avenue Northeast is partially blocked off near the intersection of 5th Street Northeast.   Police Lt. Justin Blinsky says left turns from eastbound 5th Street Northeast is not allowed until the sinkhole area is repaired.
