“Feed The Buffalo,” donations

Jamestown (CSi) The World’s Largest Buffalo statue in Jamestown will start the process of undergoing a refurbishing later this year.

Program Note: The original sculptor, Elmer Petersen, spoke at the Arts Center – now showing on CSi TV 10.

In addition to painting, the work will entail cleaning, repairing of cracks and a seal coat at the top.

Approved by the Jamestown Tourism Board of Directors the price tag is estimated at $8,500.

The board voted unanimously to let the bid to Denny & Son LLC, of Bismarck.

Jamestown Tourism director, Searle Swedlund points out that there will be a cash-donation box at the statue to help raise dollars for maintenance. to be called “Feed the Buffalo.”
