Co-ed roller derby, family fundraiser

Valley City (CSi) The Fargo-Moorhead Derby Girls and the Rock City Riot Men’s Derby league are hosting a special co-ed roller derby mixer in Valley City on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at the Valley City Youth Complex, at 940 Central Avenue, North. Doors open at 5-p.m. with the bout getting underway at 5:30-p.m

“SkateWars,” is a coed mixer with a Star Wars theme.

Those attending are invited to dress as their favorite Star Wars character.

The roller derby will help raise funds for the family of Jason Martis, who recently lost his cancer battle.

As a derby player he was called Sacre Bleu, and was a Star Wars fan, that inspired the theme.

Tickets are Adults $8, kids ages 6-12 are $5 and kids under 6 are free. A free-will donation for the Martis family will be accepted during the bout.

An after party event, will be open to the public at Boomers Corner Keg.
