USDA: Jmst Public Schools, “Best Lunch,” in ND

Jamestown (CSi) The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) says Jamestown Public Schools have the best lunch in North Dakota.

Jamestown was one of 50 schools in the nation awarded the “One in a Melon” award for administering an exemplary Farm to School program. All seven public schools have participated in the program since 2008.

The school has been partnering with a farm in Streeter through the Farm to School program. The program has area producers growing food for local school districts.

More than 2,500 schools participate in a similar program nationwide.
