Jamestown (CSi) – By 6:45pm, August 1, an inch of rain fell in downtown Jamestown – as measured at Historic Franklin School CSi Weather 2 . The Jamestown Airport recorded .74 of an inch during the hour.
The heavy rain caused street flooding, covering the intersection of 2nd Ave & 2nd St SW (Wonder Bar corner). Cars on 2nd St between the US Post Office and Wells Fargo Bank towards 3rd Av were causing water to spray every-which-way. The drive into the Wells Fargo ATM became very deep.
Pea-sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail in areas of the south part of Jamestown.
