JRMC-golfJamestown (CSi-JRMC) Dave and Dr. Mandy Sorlie in conjunction with Jamestown Region Medical Center (JRMC) Foundation will be hosting the first GOLF “fore” ANGELS outing at the Jamestown Country Club on August 27, 2016. The event will include nine holes of golf, luncheon, silent auction and wine pull.

In 2015 Dave and Dr. Mandy Sorlie created the Advocating for Neonatal Grief and Early Loss Support (ANGELS) fund. The fund was created to help defer the financial burden for families who have experienced the loss of an infant at JRMC.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the ANGELS fund, with a variety of ways to give which include;  Donating a silent auction item or bottle of wine,  becoming a sponsor, making a tax deductible gift directly to the fund,  bringing a team to golf or attending the luncheon only.

The CDC reports that over 23,000 fetal losses occurred in the United States in 2014. This type of loss is a sad reality for some families, and can have a devastating effect on the family.

“As a family physician I have witnessed the pain and felt the heartbreak that families experience during the loss of an infant. My husband and I could not imagine being faced with a financial burden at the same time.  My goal in creating this fund was to help families with the financial burden so they can focus on grieving their loss,” said Dr. Mandy Sorlie.
