Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Tourism Board held a community ribbon cutting on Thursday at Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown to kick off the Talking Trail program
Talking Trail, Creative Director Shawn Brannan said it took a cumulative effort to bring Jamestown’s history alive.

Previously reported: On Wednesday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Tourism Director Searle Swedlund said, in Jamestown Talking Trail is an audio tour that uses any cell phone to access recordings related to places, events and personalities of Jamestown. There are 70 locations throughout Jamestown, each location is a story unique to that place. At this time another 5-10 locations are to yet have signs posted.
On Thursday, October 13th, there will be four points featured, relating to Jack Brown Stadium and it’s rich history, as well as some firsthand recollections from Darin Erstad and Travis Hafner and their memories of Jack Brown. More details related to the 70 locations will be provided at the event.
He pointed out that the brochures listing the locations, and more information will be available for distribution, and on the Tourism website.

Swedlund adds Jamestown Tourism is grateful for the number of partners who have been instrumental in providing knowledge, access and support that has been significant in this effort.

Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Tourism announces that the Talking Trails program has been started, and an official Ribbon Cutting is Set for October 13, 2016, at 4:30-p.m., at Jack Brown Stadium, in Jamestown.
On the Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Jamestown Tourism Director, Searle Swedlund said, the program has been made “live” on line at DiscoverJamestownND.com as the Talking Trail signs are being installed.
Locations will include: Frontier Village, National Buffalo Museum, Stutsman County Museum, Stutsman County Courthouse, Jamestown University, Fort Seward, Jack Brown Stadium, ND Sports Hall of Fame, Historic Franklin School, Alfred Dickey Library, Jamestown Arts Center, and more!
He pointed out that in the first three days that just a few of the signs had been displayed last week that 35 responses had been noted on the Tourism web site.
He added that on October 13, 2016, there will be an official Ribbon Cutting to mark the Talking Trail locations in Jamestown.
It will be at Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown, where Jamestown Major League Baseball players, Darin Erstad, and Travis Haffner played locally before going on to professional baseball successes.
