Early voting concluded Friday Nov 4

Jamestown (CSi)   Early Voting in Stutsman County closed on Friday November 4, 2016, at 5-p.m., at the Stutsman County Courthouse.

Stutsman County I.T Director Josh Smagge says the total for early voting at 5-p.m. Friday  was at 2,395.  That’s 12 percent of 19,963 residents eligible to vote in Stutsman County.

With absentee ballots, as of Friday, there were 1,118 received by mail, of 1,312 requested.  Absentee ballots must have a postmark no later than November 7, 2016.  Those mailed ballots  received after that date will be counted if the postmark is November 7th or earlier.

As of Thursday, Stutsman County reports that 1,926 residents have voted, which is  9.7% of all eligible voters.

Voters casting Early Voting and Absentee ballots, were a majority of them ages 55 and older.

Stutsman County Auditor Casey Bradley stated that he anticipates from 80 to 90 percent of eligible voters to cast a ballot on November 8th

The 2016 Election Day is November 8th and will be held at the Jamestown Civic Center for Jamestown voters from 7-a.m., to 7-p.m.

The normal rural precincts will also be available, at Medina, Pingree, and Kensal.
