Gaylen Schmuhl, 43, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Friday afternoon, January 20, 2017 at his home surround by his loving family.
Gaylen was born April 8, 1973, in Jamestown, the son of Carroll and Opal (Ashbaugh) Schmuhl. He grew up on the family farm in Lenton Township, southwest of Jamestown. Gaylen attended Washington Elementary and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1991. He farmed with his father and worked at Dakota Inn in Jamestown. Gaylen also worked with the Allen Custom Combining Co. He enjoyed his career at UTC and always kept his love of farming. Gaylen married Sara Pedersen on January 14, 2012 in Jamestown where they made their home. He attended First Assembly of God church and was involved with the Men’s Pool League in Jamestown. Gaylen had a passion for woodworking, rock ‘n roll music, and the company of his beloved dog, Bach.
Gaylen is survived by his wife, Sara Schmuhl; step-son, Ethan Pedersen; daughter, Jocelyn; parents, Carrol and Opal Schmuhl; brother, Cory (Candace) Schmuhl and their daughter, Caylee; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncle; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; aunts and uncles.
