Carrington  (CSi)  Wednesday March 8, 2017 has been set for the funeral for the three Tufte children, Alexander, Melody and Spencer  who lost their lives in the February 25, 2017 fire in their Carrington home.

The Evans Funeral Home  in Carrington is handling arrangements for the funeral  at the Carrington High School Gymnasium at 3-p.m. Burial will be at the Carrington Cemetery.

A Prayer Service will be Tuesday March 7th , at 7-p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Visitation will continue Wednesday, from 9AM – Noon, all at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington.

A candlelight vigil was  held Thursday  night (March 2, 2017)  at 7-O’Clock at the Tufte’s home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the Tufte Family Benefit at any Gate City Bank located throughout North Dakota. Gate City Bank in Carrington will also accept non-monetary donations for the family.

The “GoFundMe” page  has been established for the Tufte family funeral expenses.

The last figures available show that donations have amounted to over $67,000.

Carrington Public Schools  has been  providing counselors and support personnel for students and staff, as needed.

 

Spencer Tufte, age 7, of Carrington, ND, died Saturday, February 25, 2017, at his home.

Spencer Lawrence Francis Tufte was born October 30, 2009, the youngest son of Brandon and Dawn (Chepulis) Tufte. He loved being outdoors, riding bikes, swimming, playing with his siblings, and with the dog, Buddy.

Spencer had a passion for wrestling, and was involved with the Carrington Pitcrew Wrestlers since he was 4 years old. He placed 2nd, at his final tournament, and was so proud of his accomplishment! He participated in 4-H and the Boy Scouts, and enjoyed Blast Class. Spencer was loved by everyone.

He is survived by his parents; his grandparents, Mike and Harriet Tufte, Carrington, Paul and Elaine Chepulis, Devils Lake; his aunts and uncles, Sabrina Tufte, West Fargo, ND, Michael J. Tufte, Devils Lake, Karen and Gary Eback, Devils Lake, and Nicole Faine, Devils Lake; and many great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Kathleen and Stanley Tufte, Viola and Julian Harrington, Nick and Lena Thomas, Frank and Jean Chepulis; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation: Tuesday, Noon – 7PM, with a Prayer Service at 7PM; visitation will continue Wednesday, 9AM – Noon, all at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington.

Melody Tufte, age 8, of Carrington, ND, died Saturday, February 25, 2017, at her home.

Melody Kathleen Tufte was born May 9, 2008, in Devils Lake, ND, the only daughter of Brandon and Dawn (Chepulis) Tufte. She loved playing with her dog, Buddy, and spending time with her brothers. She thought of herself as one of the boys! Melody greatly enjoyed baking cookies, as well.

Melody enjoyed singing songs with her mom and dad, and watching WWE wrestling on TV. She would wrestle with her brothers and loved to ride her bike, go swimming, and attending Blast Class. She was also involved in 4-H. She cherished the time she would spend with her mom and her grandma, learning how to bake. Melody was truly loved by everyone.

Alexander Tufte, age 11, of Carrington, ND, died Saturday, February 25, 2017, at his home.

Alexander Paul Tufte was born February 22, 2006, in Devils Lake, ND, the oldest son of Brandon and Dawn (Chepulis) Tufte. He loved riding his bike, going swimming, cooking, and playing with the family dog, Buddy.

Alex enjoyed kicking soccer balls in his spare time, and going to Blast Class. He was involved in 4-H and the Boy Scouts. He also greatly enjoyed playing his trombone, watching WWE on TV, and being with his siblings. Alex had the biggest heart, and was loved by everyone.
