He says, with just about all the bars reporting, he estimates this year’s total dollars raised was over $25,000.  Of that $10,000 will be distributed to cancer patients and the balance going to the Elks Camp Grassick.

The Run sold about 250 shirts, the highest amount over the years.

Knoblich said there were around 30 volunteers who supported the run.

He said this year there were 1,820 participants, representing 131 North Dakota communities, 13 states and three foreign countries.  He adds with that many visitors participating it’s important for the locals to show a good example with good behavior, and welcome to all participants.

He says this year law enforcement reported 20 arrests of various infractions, this year, down from 60 in 2016.

He pointed out that law enforcement made their presence known during the run, on foot, in uniform and in vehicles.

Larry says he’s already looking forward to the 40th Runnin’ O’ The Green in 2018.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Members of North Dakota’s congressional delegation say they support the Trump administration’s approval of the Keystone XL oil pipeline.

Republican Sen. John Hoeven and Rep. Kevin Cramer and Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp all say the pipeline is a step toward bolstering the country’s energy infrastructure.

Keystone XL is to move crude from Alberta, Canada, across Montana and South Dakota to Nebraska, where it would connect with existing pipelines feeding refineries along the Gulf Coast. It won’t pass through North Dakota, but it could carry some North Dakota oil.

Opponents fear it could contaminate water supplies and contribute to pollution.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The company building the $3.8 billion Dakota Access oil pipeline and the Army Corps of Engineers want a judge to reject a request by American Indian tribes to revoke permission for the project to cross a Missouri River reservoir in North Dakota.

The Standing Rock and Cheyenne River tribes last month asked the judge to overturn U.S. government permission for the Lake Oahe (oh-WAH’-hee) crossing. The tribes fear a spill would contaminate their water source.

Energy Transfer Partners and the Corps respond that the process resulting in federal permission was properly handled.

Oil might already be flowing under the lake. ETP said in court documents Monday it expected to have the pipeline operating this week. It hasn’t commented further. It’s not required to report the start of operations to regulators.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A December oil pipeline spill in western North Dakota is now believed to be three times larger than first estimated, and one of the biggest in state history.

Health Department environmental scientist Bill Seuss (sees) says about 530,000 gallons of oil is now believed to have spilled from the Belle Fourche Pipeline northwest of Belfield. The earlier estimate was about 176,000 gallons.

An unknown amount of oil flowed into a creek feeding into the Little Missouri River, a tributary of the Missouri River. Seuss says no oil made it into those rivers, or into any drinking water source.

Pipeline company spokeswoman Wendy Owen says about 80 percent of cleanup is complete.

The largest oil spill in North Dakota was 840,000 gallons, in a wheat field near Tioga in September 2013.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — State officials are investigating the illegal killing and dumping of four white-tailed deer, a turkey and a coyote on the Apple Creek Wildlife Management Area in Burleigh County.

North Dakota Game and Fish Department district game warden Corey Erck says all of the animals were taken outside of a legal hunting season.

Erck was notified March 18, and says all indications were that the animals had been recently killed.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Report All Poachers line at 800-472-2121. Callers can contact Erck directly at 701-320-2005.

The RAP line offers rewards for information that leads to the conviction of fish and wildlife law violators.

Update…

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump says his health care reform fell short because it lacked support from Democrats.

Trump made his first comments about the failure of a signature legislative item Friday in the Oval Office a short time after a House vote on the bill was cancelled.

Trump told reporters “we were very close” and tried to blame Democrats, through Republicans control both the House and the Senate.

He also predicted the Affordable Care Act would soon implode, forcing Democrats to join the Republicans at the negotiating table.
President Donald Trump says he would be willing to reopen negotiations for a health care bill with Democrats if the Affordable Care Act fails.

Trump told reporters Friday that he would be “open to it” if Democrats wanted to work on a bipartisan measure. He predicted the current law would soon collapse.

The president says he has a great relationship with the Republican Party and isn’t going to speak badly about GOP lawmakers. Still, he said he was a little surprised by the bill’s rejection from the conservatives in the House Freedom Caucus.

Trump also said he “never said repeal and replace it within 64 days,” though he repeatedly promised during the campaign to do it on Day One of his term.

Earlier Friday…

WASHINGTON (AP) — 3-p.m., CDT   Speaker Paul Ryan has abruptly pulled the Republicans’ troubled health care overhaul off the House floor.

The decision was a humiliating setback for President Donald Trump and congressional leaders.

The bill had appeared all but certain to be defeated Friday. The roll call was on track to occur about 4-p.m., Friday.

The measure has been a top GOP priority and was the party’s first major legislative effort since it took control of both the White House and Congress in January.

The legislation would repeal much of former President Barack Obama’s 2010 health care law, including its requirement that people buy policies.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal inspector general is looking into the Trump administration’s decision to pull back advertising for HealthCare.gov in the closing stretch of this year’s sign-up season. Democrats had called the surprise move “sabotage.” The Trump administration said the ads were a waste of taxpayer dollars. About 12.2 million people have signed up for coverage this year through HealthCare.gov and state insurance markets, short of earlier projections by the Obama administration, but still considered respectable by independent analysts.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A federal appeals court will hear arguments in May in a challenge to President Donald Trump’s revised travel ban targeting six predominantly Muslim countries. The Richmond, Virginia-based court will consider the Trump administration’s appeal of a federal judge in Maryland’s ruling that prohibited the enforcement of the travel ban nationwide. The Maryland ruling and a separate ruling in Hawaii were victories for civil liberties groups and advocates for immigrants and refugees. They argued that Trump’s temporary ban on travel from six predominantly Muslim countries violated the Constitution.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is praising a plan by cable company Charter Communications to invest $25 billion and hire 20,000 American workers over the next four years. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Charter Communications CEO Thomas Rutledge joined Trump at the White House for the announcement. Rutledge says that the company will return the call center jobs acquired through Time Warner Cable to the United States, opening a new call center in McAllen, Texas, and hiring 600 workers there.

LONDON (AP) — Britain’s most senior faith leaders have gathered near the country’s Parliament to mourn the victims of London’s terror attack and to appeal for peace in a troubled time. They included two Muslim clergymen, as well as the archbishop of Canterbury, the country’s chief rabbi and Catholic Cardinal Vincent Nichols.
